ARK is a certified NPO, dedicated to the rescue of unwanted, abused, and homeless animals. Our aim is to rehabilitate them and to find them permanent loving new homes.
We have three facilities: a shelter in Nose, Osaka; a new shelter in Sasayama, Hyogo; and an office in Tokyo. Animals in Tokyo are homed with foster families.
We have connections with many other animal welfare organizations around the world and have visiting trainers and volunteers from overseas.
Volunteer Work
Here is a list of work that you can do as a volunteer with Animal Refuge Kansai:
- Animal Care: dog walking, cleaning, socialization
- Gardening
- Helping at ARK events
- Photography
- Graphic design/ARK goods
- Translation from English to Japanese
Benefits
We can offer accommodation at our dormitory near Osaka. Please note that access to the Nose shelter can be done using public transport, but for going to Sasayama, a car is essential.
